2021 Season Announcement

To All of our Lacrosse Players and Parents:

We wanted to give a shout-out to all the Lacrosse players who have been impacted by the past two lacrosse seasons due to the pandemic. We certainly didn’t anticipate two seasons of Lacrosse being cancelled due to this pandemic. Trylax / Practices / Games/Tournaments have all been cancelled due to Province wide lockdowns, and we can only imagine how emotionally draining this has been to our Lacrosse community and players.

Our organization has looked at every avenue possible to try and get these kids back out, however, due to the Province wide lockdown, sports organizations cannot commence until Step 2 of the Province wide lockdown begins – putting us into Mid-July or later.

Plain and simple this past year has been discouraging for both our organizations Executive team our players and families. So it comes with heavy hearts that we have come to terms with having to cancel Lacrosse for this season.

Message from Kawartha Lakes Lacrosse Association;

We recognize that all of our athletes have had to endure a very difficult time, we encourage all of our players to keep grinding, no matter the circumstances. Thank you for continuing to push through these lockdowns, please keep practicing with Lacrosse sticks in hand throughout your summer. We see light at the end of the tunnel and we hope that next season we can start fresh.

We strongly encourage the younger families to volunteer for next season, we will need all hands on deck, and require roles to be filled within the Executive team, in order for next new season to run smoothly.

Thank you again.

KLMLA 2021 Season Information – Release Update

Hi KLMLA Members,

Our executive group, trainers and coaches are working diligently to figure out how to bring Fury Lacrosse back to the Kawartha Lakes despite the current pandemic state.

In the meantime the OLA has release their COVID-19 guidelines here, please review these in preparation for a 2021 season.

Additional information is released on the OLA site regularly.

For folks that may be seeking a release here is the current message from the OLA and KLMLA Executive:

As per the OLA – There are no player releases being issued at this time – as a player cannot be released without registering with their home club first. Registration is not open for REP Players at this time. The OLA will release an update once registration is open, and we will update our own sites.

Update: COVID-19 and 2020 Season

Hello Current and Prospective Fury Members,

We have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely hoping we may be able to salvage a portion of the 2020 season. unfortunately at this time it appears we will be unable to do so and have decided to cancel the 2020 House League Season (in addition to rep which was already announced).

If you have already registered please check your inbox for official communication from the Registrar addressing payment details.

Have a safe and fun 2020! We will see you for the 2021 season!

Sincerely,

KLMLA Executive Team

Update On Rep Team Status

Hello Fury Community,
Due to lack of registrations, the association is struggling to fill REP teams at every age group.  We will be offering conditional releases to any player that would like the opportunity to tryout at another center. If we can recruit more players we will make every attempt to floor a competitive rep team at any of the age groups.
If you require a release please contact our President Shane Patrick @ sgpatrick@hotmail.com.
This decision does NOT affect our house league program.
Regards,
KLMLA Executive
